It provides the exporter, international freight forwarder, and ultimate consignee with information about the shipment, including details such as total weight, each box weight, number of boxes/parcels contained in a shipment, how it's packed, the dimensions and weight of each package, and the marks and numbers that are noted on the outside of the boxes.

What is the Packing List used for:
The Packing List is used by governments of the importing country, and its customs authority, as part of the shipment description, which gives customs authorities a complete description about the nature of the goods contained in a particular shipment. The packing list is another inseparable part of the set of shipping documents.
Why the U.S. is a good source for quality goods:
Most Arab countries are working in accordance with the same basic document-related regulations, where all commercial documents, document legalization, and all Embassy legalization services must be done in accordance with a standard set of procedures in order to ensure that these documents are true, authentic, and reflect the real origin and quality of the goods. In the meantime, the United States is considered a primary supplier for major Arab countries, where they rely on the high quality, durability, and high efficiency of American-made goods, equipment, and machinery. Even other goods such as agricultural and food products—American-made agricultural and food products—are known for their strictly controlled quality and suitability for consumption. In the United States, and over many years of continued business with Arab countries, we at D.C. Consular have developed a unique, and very efficient path for those wishing to use our services, where our clients’ satisfaction is always guaranteed.
Required Steps for Legalization:
The packing list is also notarized, and then authenticated with an Arab Chamber stamp in the United States, and finally submitted to the Embassy or Consular office of the destination country for final Embassy legalization.
Why Document Legalization is a Must:
Generally speaking, document legalization is a process that offers extra legal certainty in international trade business; and your foreign client realizes, after legalization is done, that this document is fully valid and accepted by his authorities.
